You Don’t Need To Innovate In Finance; You Don’t Need To Invent Anything New

Oh…Finally, See Mr. Murdoch In Your Journal Pages

Changes are taking place at the Wall Street Journal. You don’t think Mr. Murdoch bought the paper just to keep it as it is, right?

The change of editor-in-chief, the launch of a new glossy magazine, now look at this: stories with a short video from Fox News!

This is the first time that a major newspaper and a major television station have come together to share content in a seamless way. When Murdoch bought the Journal, one irrate factor was that the Journal had contractual obligation to supply material to CNBC for several more years. But no matter, what about some creative thinking?

Now, this alliance could help Fox News to rival CNBC, leveraging the enormously popular Journal website. There could potentially be a lot more synergy between the two traditional media platforms. Mr. Murdoch is shaping the future of media companies: they have to be conglomerates across all platforms to survive in tomorrow’s converged media landscape.

Hopefully, this could also be the end of the era of amateur announcers on the web. This, you have to thank Mr. Murdoch.
